First and foremost, we would like to emphasize one thing: Every staircase by markiewicz is an expression of luxury and represents the highest level of craftsmanship. However, we occasionally receive requests to elevate a particularly exclusive home or a highly representative company headquarters with an extraordinary staircase, essentially adding the "design crown" to the space.
We had the honor and privilege of outfitting a villa in Berlin’s Grunewald district with a stringer staircase whose brass railing is a true masterpiece.
Designed by New York architect Robert A.M. Stern, elaborated by the architectural firm Sebastian Treese, and executed by markiewicz, the elliptical shape of the individual burnished brass ornaments and the harmonious color palette are truly impressive. The client was thrilled with the surface, unique design, and materials. This project was so demanding, particularly due to the complex metalwork and shaping, that two of our employees even considered resigning.
Yet, as the results began to take shape, enthusiasm for the execution of this exceptionally challenging staircase construction grew. The complexity of this project was also reflected in the work of architect Julia Treese, who seemingly had to draw a million details. The success of all involved relied on a commitment to impeccable style, the highest-quality materials, and perfect execution.
